A reason to SMILE. CM July Sketch

Today is my Mother's Bday and she would of been 63.  We lost her just over 2 years ago and I find my parents Birthdays the hardest.   So to bring me out of my funk I chose to work on the July Sketch at Cest Magnifique. I do subscribe to the monthly kit and this is the first time I have made it a point to use up the yummy goodies. I used the sketch as my base and wandered a little. The pic is of my Niece Quinlyn and her date CJ.  She will be the topic of many of my posts this summer.  She is an amazing young woman.

Love To Scrap Anything Goes

Happy July1st Canada and Happy 4th of July USA.  Living on the border between the 2 countries has its perks once in a while and celebrations are perks. Here is my project for our new challenge at Love to Scrap.  I created a Mini this time around.  Layouts are my first love but I am loving these hand made mini's.
This is a Paper bag Mini made from scratch. I used craft paper bags and the engraver collection papers. I also used masks and molding paste on the cover with cut outs and a Stamp from Kaisercraft. The blooms are from my stash the metal pieces are from the dollar store.
The cover is made of chipboard and covered with burlap. the book is put together with hinges.  It is a Kathy Orta Stylish Mini. I had alot of fun creating this and there is so much room for pictures.
I hope you find the time to scrap and join us at Love to Scrap.  Please read the challenge rules on the blog. http://lovetoscrapchallengeblog.blogspot.ca  Winner of the challenge will receive a $10 shopping spree at The Crafting Boutique.

July 1, AAG "New" challenge

Here is my page for the July 1, 2013 Challenge at About a Girl.  You need to add the word "New" on your creation. I chose some colorbok papers for this page.  I layered and added a variety of blooms. The pic is special. It was the beginning of our "NEW" Family tradition.  My parents always wanted to take the entire family to Disney in Florida. My Father was always too sick to go so we never went.  My Mom was determined to finish all my dad's plans. So when she found out she had Cancer we asked her what she wanted and a Family trip to Disney was first on her list. We scrambled and within a couple weeks we were in Florida.  The second trip was much harder without my Mom but we did it and had a great time.  We are planning our next trip now.  I hope you get some time to Create a "NEW" page and join us at AAG.  http://www.itsaboutthegirls.blogspot.ca
